Hayden is a versatile, highly skilled singer with a voice full of colour, exciting range, and possibility. After years of professional training at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and beyond, they are able to seamlessly tread between genres such as musical theatre, classical, jazz, blues, soul, contemporary, and pop. Hayden has regularly performed in concerts and for events across Brisbane including with the Queensland Pops Orchestra, Underground Opera, at QPAC, Sydney City Recital Hall, and Brisbane CIty Hall.
Hayden’s unique perspective, nuanced delivery, and thoughtful characterisation make them a sought-after performer. They have a rich creative history of working on new productions and developments as well as rising to, and enriching, existing roles. They’ve worked on a national level, touring across the country in theatres and venues from almost every state and territory. Hayden holds a Bachelor of Musical Theatre from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
A jack-of-all arts, Hayden began their career in theatre as an actor and singer but has since diversified into writing, producing, and design. In 2020 they launched their own theatre group, Boom Squish, through which they are creating works about the ongoing global climate and ecological crisis.
Utilising their experience in show development and passion for writing, Hayden ventured into constructing original works. Their show An Audience With Death was selected for the 2019 Sydney Cabaret Competition and in the same year they wrote Murder, She Sang for Little Triangle. Hayden has also designed for Little Triangle’s last two major productions, The Wild Party (2018) and Nine (2019), including production design and sound design for Nine.

Hayden has many years experience as a performing arts educator, having worked with young people from Prep to Year 12 and beyond into tertiary education. They’ve taught musical theatre classes, improvisation, private singing, acting through song, directed school productions, and more. Over their career they’ve been fortunate to teach in institutions such as the Australian Performing Arts Grammar School, Brisbane Girls Grammar, the Academy of Music and Performing Arts tertiary program, and recently toured regional Queensland as a teaching artist with Monkey Baa theatre company. They offer private tutoring in performing arts at their home studio.
